Planning a trip to New Zealand quite soon now. So thought of being a bit proactive, and report the plan ahead of actually starting off to the journey. Maybe this will help getting a bit of feedback, and fine tuning the plan a bit more.
The trip is planned from 17-27th of April, 2014. We have the Easter and Anzac Day breaks coming up, and combining just 3 days of vacation is actually giving us a bit of time to visit both the North and South islands together. We will be having a good deal of road trip ahead of us, and it is only a stroke of luck that both of us drives the car.
Well, getting down to the plan now. Here is the itinerary:
Apr 17: Fly to Auckland.
Apr 18: Drive to Rotorua.

- Visit Whakarewarewa: The Living Maori Village and famous Pohutu geyser
- Visit Ohinemutu : St Faiths Church
- Stay at Rotorua

- Visit Wai-o-tapu Thermal Wonderland
- Drive to Taupo
- Visit Lake Taupo
- Stay at Taupo
Apr 20:
- Visit Mt Ngauruhoe(tentative plan)
- Visit Mt Ruapehu(tentative plan)
- Visit Mt. Victoria lookout
- Visit historic Wellington cable car
- Visit Cuba Street
- Stay at Wellington
Apr 21:
- Take the Interislander Ferry to Picton
- Drive to Hokitika and stay for the night
- Visit the Gold Room
Apr 22:
- Drive to Fox Glacier
- Drive to Queenstown
Apr 23:
- Visit Arrowtown
- Drive to Te Anau
- Fly from QTN to Christchurch; Flyback to Sydney, AU
